Barone Di Villagrande Etna Rosato

Barone di Villagrande is the oldest winery in Sicily dating back to 1727. Located on the east side of Etna in Milo, one of the island’s most exciting winemaking regions is Mount Etna. The area turns out vibrant and intriguing Rosatos, thanks to its unique combination of indigenous grapes, soaring vineyard altitudes, volcanic soils, and intense sunlight. Those factors are also coupled with cooler, wetter growing conditions in comparison to the rest of Sicily.

Nerello Mascalese 80%, 10% Carricante, 10% Nerello Cappuccio grapes.

Tasting Notes
Soft rose in color with alluring scents of citrus, Mediterranean scrub, and white stone fruit. On the palate, crisp acidity lifts pomegranate, grapefruit, ginger, and nectarine. A burst of salinity leaves a mouthwatering finish.
Vineyard Notes
Barone di Villagrande is the oldest winery in Sicily dating back to 1727. The vineyards are formed from the collapse of the Valley de Bove when Etna first started erupting. The soil is a result of when the Lava went into the water and created this loam and black sand.
